BECOME A MARTIAL ARTS ATHLETE
Are you interested in becoming an elite athlete, competing in national and international competitions, with the chance of progressing to representing Team GB?
Team LSK Elite is an invitation only fighting squad that trains together once a week, with the aim of producing world reknowned competitors taking part in tournaments around the UK and abroad.
All members of LSK Martial Arts are invited to apply for a trial to join the Elite Team progression pathway.
The Elite Team are committed to their training and have ambitions to represent the club and the country, aiming to win recognition and titles.
The key target of all Elite Squad members is progression and improvement.
All squad members must attend training and competitions consistently showing the commitment and desire required.
Step One / Attend a trial
Open trial squad sessions are held twice a year and are open to all members of LSK Martial Arts. Participants are assessed and offered feedback on their performance and areas of strength or improvement.
Those that show the potential to become and Elite team member will be invited to train with the team on a regular basis. Individual trials can take place all year round, to apply for a trial with the team, please follow the instructions at the bottom of this page.
Step Two // Train with the Elite Team
Students who show the committment, skill and potential to join the LSK Elite Team are invited to train with the team on a regular basis. Squad training sessions are by invitation only and are among the most challenging types of training available.
The Elite squad also takes part in quarterly interclub squad training with our partner clubs, allowing exposure to more varied training methods and sparring partners.
Step Three // Compete around the World
The number one aim of the Elite squad is student progression and improvement. There is no better way to learn than to take on the best around the world. Elite team members are invited to represent Team LSK on the tournament circuit and fight for national and international honours.
Competitions include the Open Championships, British Championships, the Irish Open and other WAKO World Series events. Elite squad members are also given the opportunity to be selected for the WAKO GB Team and compete at the European and World Championships.
