The importance of safeguarding

One of the most important aspects to look for in a martial arts club is safeguarding procedures, codes of conduct and accreditations.

Any martial arts clubs serious about looking after it's members will have a clear and accessible Code of Conduct, Safeguarding Policy, Safe Practice Policy and Child Protection & Guidance.

With this in place, along with thorough DBS checks, suitable insurance, and the correct governance, it is possible to receive Sport England accreditation through the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts.

LSK Martial Arts & Fitness are extremely proud to adhere to the Safeguarding Code by putting in place thorough processes and with affiliation to the worlds largest Kickboxing governing body, WAKO.

The Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts was created to reward martial arts organisations who exercise good safeguarding practice in their delivery. It helps to demonstrate that we work to protect the children, young people and adults that are involved in our activities, as well as the coaches and instructors who are working with them.

Attaining the Safeguarding Code in Martial Arts "mark" gives confidence to parents, carers and educational establishments, that we engage with, and reassures them that we have quality safeguarding processes and practices in place.
